Fire & Water Lino Print Workshop

Saturday 23rd October 11.30 – 4.00pm – £30.

One-day lino-printing workshop led by artist Andi Dakin in response to his exhibition at the Old Parcels Office Artspace.

This printmaking workshop will be led by the experienced artist Andi Dakin who often uses printmaking techniques to develop and realise his ideas. All participants will be issued with a six inch square tile of Lino and a small sketchbook so they can draw and refine images that will be copied onto and cut out of the Lino tile. Specialist Lino cutting tools will be available for everyone to use.

Andi will show everyone how to use the tools safely and achieve good results. The theme will be ‘FIRE AND WATER’ which can be interpreted anyway the printmaker chooses and support and advice will be plentiful during the session. The aim of the workshop is to further extend the LONGEST LINO PRINT IN THE UNITED KINGDOM. The print is currently over thirty-five metres long.

All participants will contribute to this record breaking achievement. Everyone involved will leave with their incised Lino tile and a finished print of their image, and memories of a great day out.

Workshop Times: October 23rd at 11:30 following a free talk by the artist at 10:30 am for those who want to attend both.

The Workshop Fee includes all equipment and materials. Participants should come with a packed lunch or take advantage of local cafes for a short lunch break.
