The Blow-ins 9 July
The Blow-ins (Bridget and Phil with Celtic harp, guitar and voices) will be playing music and songs to evoke a sense of place. 9 July (2pm till 4pm) free event.
The Jake Leg Jug Band 23 July
The Jake Leg Jug Band bring you the authentic sounds of 1920’s and 30’s America – Jazz, Blues, Gospel, Ragtime – and put their own twist on it. Songs of murder, betrayal, gambling, liquor and redemption.
Human Machines 6-28 Aug 2022
Human Machines by Johnny White and Amanda Wray comprises of seven large scale freestanding artworks inspired by the common experiences and feelings, and pivotal moments in life, which affect us all as humans. When the Railway Came to Town 8-18 Sept
When the Railway Came to Town celebrates the growth of Scarborough as seaside resort from the arrival of the first steam trains in 1845 to 1945 through a collection of historical maps, postcards, memorabilia and selected pieces of contemporary art. This exhibition coincides with National Heritage week. 8th – 18th September. Admission Free
An Evening with Nathan Bell 20th Sept 2022
Welcome return to Scarborough for one of the best singer songwriters and guitarists around. Award winning performing songwriter, Nathan Bell, the subject of a 2020 Documentary short film “I Don’t Do This For Love” was a best-of selection for Americana UK in 2016, 2017, and 2018 including Best Male Artist of 2017. Nuvole Sat 1st – Sun 23rd Oct
A solo exhibition by sculptor Paul Bonomini including a new work, ‘Nuvole’ which will be suspended like a cloud in the roof space of the OPO. 1st-30th Oct. Thur-Sun 11-4. Admission Free.
Jeffery Straker & Malcolm MacWatt 4th Nov 2022
Singer-songwriter pianist Jeffery Straker grew up taking piano lessons in a small farming town on the Canadian prairies, and has gone on to perform over 100 shows per year across Canada, Europe and Latin America. His music sits at the intersection of contemporary singer-songwriter, folk and roots genres with critical comparisons being drawn to the likes of Harry Chapin, Kris Kristofferson, & Billy Joel.
