FREELANCE PROJECT MANAGER – HIGH STREET CREATIVE HUB(S)
Initial contract 20 days over 10 weeks. Fee £3,000

Scarborough Studios/Old Parcels Office Artspace (OPO) has received Shared Prosperity Funding to manage a project that will attempt to bring empty shops into short term use as creative spaces.
Making short/medium term use of empty shop units in other coastal towns have acted as major driver for high street regeneration. Art and culture is now widely accepted as ‘a vital ingredient for successful high streets.’ Successful high streets ‘offer a combination of experiences and amenities, including culture, to attract locals and those travelling from further afield.’ (Arts Council England 2022).
This project would see the establishment of artists studios, gallery and performance spaces in empty premises on the high street. It will enable artists and creatives to showcase their artistic practice and bring a creative buzz to some of the more neglected areas of the town centre
