INPRINT Open Call

Calling all printmakers! The Old Parcels Office Artspace (OPO), Scarborough, invites you
to submit your best small print to be exhibited in our inaugural printmaking exhibition,
which will feature original works by Antoni Tàpies, John Piper, Alan Davie, Henry Moore,
Graham Sutherland, David Hockney, Jason Hicklin, and selected contemporary
printmakers.
The Open Call will form part of this exciting exhibition which will run from 12th
October until 3rd November and will include several different printmaking events over the
four weekends it is open (Thursdays to Sunday 11 am to 4 pm), including a print fair and a
variety of workshops. The exhibition will also host the Watermark and Tarpey Galleries
and a special display of Lino prints from the Kafoutine printmaking project in Senegal.
Three prizes will be awarded to prints selected for the Open Call:
£100 prize for printmaking excellence
£50 prize for best figurative print
£50 prize for best abstract print

How to enter:

Submit one good quality image of your print, indicating your name, title of work, date,
technique, price, and edition. Entry form below.
Only one entry per artist is permitted.
We can only accept prints that are smaller than A3. All selected prints will need to be
displayed with an A3 (outer measurements) window mount, regardless of print size.
Cost: A submission fee of £5 must be paid with your entry.
Key dates:
All digital submissions must be received by 11pm on 31st August.
Successful artists will be notified by 10th September and will need to send/deliver their
work by 1st October (full details of specific dates and address to send/deliver will be
provided on selection).

Submission terms and conditions:

Work submitted must be an original print and no giclée prints will be accepted.
Open to any UK based artist.
Selected work must be mounted in a white A3 (outer measurements) window mount,
either landscape or portrait, and sent/delivered together with a prepaid self addressed
envelope.
The print must be accompanied with labelling on the back to include Artist Name, Title,
Medium, and retail price. The contact details of the artist must also be evident in the
labelling. We suggest an email address in case of further edition sales.
No framed work will be accepted and work sent in any other format will not be included.
Unsold work will be returned in the prepaid packaging provided and OPO will not take
responsibility for any damage caused in transit.
Artists are recommended they have their own insurance.
Work must be available to buy at a maximum price of £150. OPO will charge 20%
commission so please factor that in to the price of your work. Our intention via this
affordable pricing is to make great prints available to a wide section of people.
OPO will handle the sale of the print exhibited, which will be made available to the buyer
at the end of the exhibition. The artist can indicate where further editions are available and
should provide contact details for interested buyers to contact them directly to arrange
purchase.
OPO will not charge commission on any subsequent sales of further editions as a result
of the exhibition and it is the responsibility of the artist to follow up with any interested
buyers to arrange the sale of any further editions.
Editions should be offered at the same price (or higher) as the print exhibited in the show.
