About this event

Join us at The Old Parcels Office for this four-week drawing workshop, whether you’re a student with any level of previous experience, wanting to improve your drawing skills, build a portfolio, or if you’re a beginner and would just like to start drawing. With a focus on building a drawing through observation, these four-week courses, led by Sally Gatie, are a great way to experience drawing in a positive, supportive, and friendly atmosphere.

· Structured drawing exercises

· working from still life objects

· understanding of the foundations of observational drawing

· constructively, encouraging you along your journey

Sally will take you through a series of structured drawing exercises, working from still life objects, to develop your drawing skills and give you an understanding of the foundations of observational drawing. She will respond constructively, encouraging you along your journey, whatever your starting point is.

Sally is a Scarborough based artist with 20 + years teaching experience, regularly exhibiting in exhibitions across the UK. You will find her work on www.sallygatie.com

All classes will follow the COVID guidelines current at the time. Places will be limited to follow social distancing rules, and to give you enough space to step back from your work at regular intervals…one of Sally’s theories about making great art!

Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided.

You will need to bring…

· Pencils (suggest HB, 2B, 4B, 6B),

· Eraser

· Masking tape

· Charcoal

· Putty rubber

Paper will be provided. Please feel free to bring along any of your own drawing materials.
