The Rainbow Centre Silver Jubilee Exhibition: The Art of Appreciation
Dear Artist,
Silver Jubilee: The Rainbow Centre
The Rainbow Centre Scarborough is a charity supporting the homeless, vulnerable and those in crisis in one of the most deprived wards in England. September 2022 will see us celebrate our 25th Anniversary – a huge achievement for a small social inclusion charity – and we are planning a weekend of events in honour of the occasion. The programme will be as follows:
· Friday 16th September, 7.30pm: The Art of Appreciation in St. Mary’s church
· Saturday 17th September, 10.00am until 4.00pm: Open Day at the Rainbow Centre with tours of the building, craft stalls, music and a speech from the Mayor.
· Sunday 18th September, 2.30pm: Service of Thanksgiving at St. Mary’s church followed by afternoon tea (ticket only) at The Rainbow Centre
We should like to seek your help with our art event and hope that you will donate a piece of your work for us to display in St. Mary’s church throughout the weekend. It does seem rather presumptuous to ask for a donation, but we appeal to your generosity of spirit.
This year, because of the cost of living crisis, the Rainbow Centre finds itself in a very difficult situation. Demand for its help has never been greater, but donations have dwindled. On the Friday evening we are inviting those donors who have, in the past, been very generous to the Rainbow Centre so that we may thank them. Lady Heather Aykbourn has been asked to ‘open’ the event. It is hoped that during the course of the evening the art will be enjoyed and successfully sold. It will remain on display on Saturday the 17th and Sunday 18th when the church will be open to the public.
We would kindly ask that you click on this LINK download, fill in the form and email that to us at [email protected] along with a high quality digital image of your work as soon as convenient, but certainly by the early August. We should like to receive the work itself on one of the dates in August or September as indicated on the included form. Unsold work will need to be collected after the event.
We do hope you will be happy to participate and thus support the essential work of the Rainbow Centre.
Yours faithfully,
Zoe Phillips
