Surreal Symphony: Masks, Music, and Meaning

Workshops – 26th, 27th, 28th July, & 2nd, 3rd, 4th August
Exhibition 12th – 27th August

A collective art project that invites individuals of all ages and backgrounds to explore our innate need for narratives. Join us at the OPO for a unique opportunity to learn the art of mask-making in workshops led by artist and designer Steven Wintercroft. Create your own animal mask or work collaboratively to help construct the heads of extraordinary creatures.

The project’s centrepiece is a fantastical procession featuring magnificent
masks, accompanied by live music and dance. Participants who have attended
the workshops will be invited to take part in or witness this captivating
event. In August, the masks created during the workshops and a video of the
procession will be showcased in an exhibition at the OPO.

This multi-sensory art performance encourages self-discovery, community
collaboration, and contemplation. Unleash your creativity and embark on a
quest to understand your place in the world. Don’t miss this enchanting
symphony of visual art, music, and dance.
