The Old Parcels Office Artspace (OPO) is run by the Trustees and volunteers of  Scarborough Studios CIO.  Since it opened in Sept 2012 we have had over 14,000 visitors.
We are now seeking a Freelance Arts Project Worker to start immediately to support our Trustees from July to the end of October with a programme of 3 exhibitions.
Freelance flat fee contract £3,500 over 4 months
Expected time commitment is equivalent to 200 hours over 4 months, including weekends during exhibitions and occasional evenings. Must be available to start at the beginning of July. The majority of the working hours will be at the Old Parcels Office Artspace.
Accountable to the Chair of Scarborough Studios
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Working with Trustees, artists and curators to provide practical support to deliver a programme of 3 exhibitions and associated workshops
Designing information boards for exhibitions
Manage and support a team of volunteers to ensure effective invigilation of  exhibitions
Be available to open and lock up the building during exhibitions
Ensure data collection and visitor feedback is collected and collated
Support Trustees in the developing future exhibition proposals and funding applications
Any other duties that may from time be required by the Chair and Trustees.
Person Specification
Essential
Practical skills required to install exhibitions
Experience and in running art workshops
Appropriate DBS documentation for running workshops for young people
Experience of successfully managing budgets and delivering to timescales
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Excellent administrative skills including use IT software
Able to attend exhibitions and events, including evenings and weekends
Able to support and supervise volunteers

Desirable
Design and marketing skills
Website design/management skills
Experience writing fundraising applications and project proposals
